M\u00e1laga is one of the main cultural paradises in Andalusia<\/strong>, proven by its museums (Centre Pompidou, Russian Museum Collection, Picasso Museum M\u00e1laga, Picasso\u2019s Birth Home, CAC\u2026), its theatres (Cervantes Theatre, Echegaray Theatre, Alameda Theatre\u2026) and its cinemas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 13th<\/sup> 1895 the Lumi\u00e8re brothers patented the \u2018cinematograph\u2019, the first camera-projector. Three years later, thanks to the owner of Caf\u00e9 de Espa\u00f1a<\/em>, the innovative invention came to M\u00e1laga. It wasn\u2019t until 1900 that the city enjoyed its first cinema<\/strong>, the Pascalini cinema. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirty-six years later, a bomb totally destroyed the establishment, leaving space for other cinemas to open their doors in different locations around the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cine Ideal<\/strong>, Sal\u00f3n Novedades, Cine Moderno, Cine Victoria, Cine Petit Palais, Gran Cinema Iris, Cinema Concert, Cine Goya, Parque la Merced (the first recreation centre), Cine Capuchinos, Cine Espa\u00f1ol<\/strong>, Cine Olimpia, Cine Plus Ultra, Cine Gal\u00e1n, Cine las Delicias, Imperial Cinema, Cine Rialto, Cine Excelsior, Cine Echegaray<\/strong>, Cine Gran Olimpia, Cine Avenida, Cine Duque, Cine Alb\u00e9niz, Cine Capitol (\u2026) That were followed by great multiplex cinemas like Astoria, Alameda or Andaluc\u00eda<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of all of this, M\u00e1laga maintains the hegemony of the cinema in Andalusia<\/strong> with the best techniques<\/a>, the best movies<\/a> and one of the most renown festivals<\/a> at a national level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alb\u00e9niz Cinema<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Alb\u00e9niz cinema is a national referent, providing an enormous amount of independent movies. In its four rooms there are prize-winning films that come from type A cinema festivals. It is also one of the headquarters of the Spanish Cinema Festival in M\u00e1laga, getting involved in activities related with cinematography all year long. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its prices are one of the cheapest in M\u00e1laga, even more if you are part of the free Alb\u00e9niz Club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yelmo Cines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yelmo Cines is a popular chain of cinemas that is present all over the country, and in M\u00e1laga it has three different buildings. Its facilities have 3D technology, UHD rooms and adapted access for disabled people, which makes its facilities the most innovative of the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cinesur M\u00e1laga Nostrum offers both commercial movies and theatre plays, musicals and even classic films that have been remastered. Its rooms were recently renewed. It stands out because of its prices: the most expensive ticket costs about 6 euros. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the leisure centre you will find a big game room equipped with a ball pit, bowling, miniature golf and dozens of gaming machines, a karts circuit and several restaurants.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multicines Rosaleda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multicines Rosaleda (Uni\u00f3n Cine Ciudad) is in the Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar Avenue, a few metres away from \u201cThe Rosaleda\u201d football stadium. It has 14 projection rooms available, adapted for disabled people and with 3D technology included. The Rosaleda Shopping Centre has a broad shops and restaurants offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
