do you want to learn a bit of your university’s history?
We have to look back 50 years and place ourselves in 1968, when the “Association of Friends of the University of Málaga” was created to provide the city with a university that met the modern and cosmopolitan standards that were on the maps for Málaga. After a long process full of illusion, the UMA Foundation was approved in 1972. The Economy and Business Faculty and the Medicine Faculty were the first ones to be part of the global university that now conforms Málaga University.
On these foundations, the UMA drew an ambitious expansion plan and now Malaga can show off as a first class university, pioneer in new technologies and investigation, an innovation and scientific development reference in the south of Spain. The numbers support us: in 40 years we have prepared more than 35.000 students, we have 58 degrees, 53 Masters available and close to 300 investigation groups.
